Do you listen to podcasts? If not, it’s time to start! I can’t step on the treadmill, clean my house, or get ready for the day without one of my favorite podcasts playing. I used to listen to music during those moments, but lately, I’ve discovered how much I love podcasts. They help me learn new things, gain a better understanding of the world around me, and motivate me to accomplish more than I thought possible. I laugh, cry, get spooked – you name it. Some episodes inspire me, while others leave me disgusted, but I just can’t get enough.
Here are my top 5 podcasts that I listen to every week. If you haven’t checked them out yet, what are you waiting for? Let me know your favorites – I’m always looking for new ones to add to my list!
Even if you’re not into podcasts (yet), you’ve probably heard of Mel Robbins. She’s transformed so many lives through her books The 5 Second Rule and The High 5 Habit. One of the reasons I love her podcast is because Mel truly gets it. She’s been through many of the struggles we all face, and listening to her feels like chatting with a close friend. She often brings in experts to discuss topics like happiness, motivation, sleep, raising kids, and marriage—topics that are relevant to where I am in life. Mel doesn’t just throw out advice; she backs it up with science and years of research. If you practice even half of what she suggests, I promise you’ll feel happier and more fulfilled. I know I do!
Hi, I’m Shannon, and I’m a true crime junkie. There, I said it! I’m not alone, though – I know there are others out there who share the same obsession. Let me be clear, I absolutely hate that people have been hurt or killed, and I often find myself in tears during episodes. But I believe their stories need to be told. By sharing these stories, we can raise awareness, bring perpetrators to justice, and, hopefully, prevent future tragedies. Hosts Ashley Flowers and Brit Prawat dive into cases with compassion and intrigue, and you’ll quickly be hooked. Ashley also wrote a book, All Good People Here, which I’ve read and loved. If you’re into true crime, you’ll enjoy this podcast as much as I do.
Since I already admitted to being a true crime junkie, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that I also listen to Anatomy of Murder. This podcast takes a behind-the-scenes look at gripping cases from across the country. Hosted by former NYC homicide prosecutor Anna-Sigga Nicolazzi and Emmy-winning investigative journalist Scott Weinberger, this podcast walks you through the entire process—from the crime to the investigation to the trial. They often include police recordings and testimonies from detectives and victims’ families, giving you a full-circle understanding of the case. As the mother of a police officer, I already hold law enforcement in high regard, but this podcast has deepened my appreciation for the incredible work of detectives and prosecutors. I never miss an episode, and I bet you won’t either!
If you’ve struggled with losing weight or staying motivated, Losing 100 Pounds with Corinne is a must-listen. Corinne Crabtree has lost over 100 pounds and offers a no-nonsense approach to weight loss. She doesn’t believe in restrictive diets, and no food is off-limits. Corinne has coached thousands of women to think differently about weight loss, and she has a huge following for good reason. Let me warn you – she drops some truth bombs and doesn’t hold back. She’s real, and she’s effective. If you’re ready to get honest and make lasting changes, you’ll love her. I’ve listened to Corinne for years, and her podcast is truly life-changing. New episodes drop every Friday, and they’re packed with valuable insights!
I stumbled upon Jamie Kern Lima by accident. I had an Audible credit to use and randomly picked her book, Believe It, without knowing anything about her. I listened to it in just a few days, and let me tell you—it completely changed my life. I became an instant fan, and when I heard she was launching a podcast, I was all in. Jamie’s messages are powerful. She speaks to me in a way that feels personal and deeply relatable. She gets us. If you don’t know who she is, I highly recommend reading her book. But even if you only listen to one podcast on my list, let it be this one. I promise it’ll change your life, too.
So, there you have it—my top 5 podcasts. Do any of your favorites make my list? If not, what are they? I’m always on the lookout for new recommendations, so let me know your thoughts!
